Step 46

Step 46:This is also the same angle as the other pictures. The landmark should be the circle of 5 pink beads. In this step, we are both joining old beads and adding new ones, so be careful. We left off crossing the orange bead marked by a black X with the two ends of the fishing line. Now, remember that pink bead marked by a red dot from 3 steps ago? Well, we are going to use it again now. So, take the end of the fishing line depicted by a black arrow and string it through that pink bead marked by a red dot. Again, this bead is already in the pattern! Just follow the picture carefully for that. Then, to the same end of the fishing line, add two new orange beads (both with blue markings). The new orange bead marked by a blue X is to then be crossed by the other end of the fishing line (that depicted by a red arrow). Sorry if this step was a bit complicated! Just follow the picture very carefully, and remember that the pink bead is old, and the two orange beads are new.

Step 47

Step 47:This step is very simple. You just have to look very carefully to make sure you do it right or else you'll have problems. It's not overly obvious what to do even though it's a simple stringing through an existing bead. So, follow the black arrow. Take that end of the fishing line and string it through the orange bead marked with a black dot, as shown in the picture. Be very careful to make sure you are choosing the right bead (even hold you cat model up to the screen) because there are lots of orange beads in the area that could be erroneous choices (such as the orange bead marked with a black X). Be careful to get the right one!

Step 48

Step 48:Okay, now we add two new beads in this step to form another circle of 4 beads. Take the end of the fishing line depicted by a red arrow and add 2 new orange beads to it (one is marked with a pink dot, the second one marked with a pink X). Then cross the last one added (pink X) with the other end of the fishing line (that depicted by a black arrow). Again, be careful with the colours of the arrows. It's easy to get mixed up. Trust me, I got mixed up a few times while making this model and deleted those pictures!! Follow the picture carefully! You just finished making the cat's second butt cheek! Now her bum is complete! (Can you tell?) She's only missing a tail, which will soon come!

Step 49

Step 49:Now, as the picture states, rotate the pattern again by 90 degrees until you see exactly what is shown in the picture. You are now looking at the exact opposite side of the cat than what you were looking at before when we first rotated (and made that circle of 5 pink beads). This step does not involve adding any new beads to the pattern. We are simply going to string through some existing beads here. So, take the end of the fishing line depicted by a red arrow and string it through the orange bead marked by a black dot, then the yellow bead marked by a green dot, then the orange bead marked by a green dot. Basically follow the picture to be sure of what you're doing. The yellow bead you should be going through is in the back row of yellow beads, not the front row.

Step 50

Step 50:And now you see why we did that! We were making way to make another circle of 5 beads to complete this side of the kitty pattern. So we just add one new bead in this step to complete the circle. Add the orange bead marked with a red dot and cross it with both ends of the fishing line. Pull tight! Now the cat's "body" is done (the trunk of the body). All that is left is the paws and the tail!

So, My boyfriend tried making this, and my friend kat, and now me. Somehow, i triple checked every step i made, i still ended up with the same problem they did. When i was almost finished with the trunk, my cat was facing the right instead of the left as in your picture. And it seemed to have to be that way in order to match up the colored dots. Now, I've rechecked again when im finished, and i my cat trunk looks nothing like your finished one. But I can't really tell considering you have no alternate angle pictures to make sure that it is coming out the right way. Ugh. This is so frustrating

jannete, instructions for a beaded animal is very hard to do so she has to make it specific and if you are having a hard time finding where the instructions are, just read the whole thing.
