There's nothing to make a lady look expensive like a faceted gemstone ring. This easy pattern will take you less than an hour and you will inspire envy for years, but will cost you pennies to make.
Before you begin ...
16 of 3mm purple translucent bugle beads
10 of 3mm turquoise translucent bugle beads
1 plastic gemstone (from the Dollar store) or other gemstone that is flat on one side and beveled on the other, and with faceted corners
16 of 11/0 or 15/0 seed beads in gold or copper tone for the surface of the ring
28 of the same seed beads for the underside of the gemstone
As many gold seed beads as you need to go around your finger for the band
As many purple 11/0 or 15/0 seed beads that you need to go around your finger for the band
Fishing line or fireline (about 1 yard)
If desired, you can use elastic 0.5mm string for the band (or fishing line if you make it custom for your finger). If this pattern will be made into a gift, you may want to use elastic thread for the ring band.
Time required: About 1 hours
Techniques: Beadweaving, right angle weave, stringing
